    • Synopsis
    • In 2006, the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, declared war on drug-trafficking. During the six years of this war, violence spread like wildfire throughout the country. An estimated 121,000 died violently and thousands were forced into exile, kidnapped or disappeared. BEFORE WE ARE FORGOTTEN is a real-life documentary about those who experienced this war, which still continues to this day. The same story of suffering is told by the parents, siblings and children of the victims. The background to this terrible conflict, which left no corner of the country unaffected, is told by well-known Mexican sociologists, writers, artists, journalists and politicians, and the documentary gives us a glimpse into the gravest wound Mexico has ever suffered.
