    • Synopsis
    • The documentary film “Barefoot on Ice” tells the story of certain children and teachers at Polis Amca (Uncle Police) Middle School, located in one of the most unfavorable neighborhoods of Ankara called “Çinçin”.
      Characteristic of Çinçin neighborhood are residents with low income and high percentage of criminality. The director and educational staff of Polis Amca Middle School organize a series of sport and cultural events to socialize students who are surrounded by this dangerous environment. One of these activities is the ice-hockey team of children between 11 and 14 years old.
      The film does not tell a story of winning or losing. Rather it shows how children born under unfortunate circumstances can be gained back into society with care and education.
