    • Synopsis
    • Jimmy, Joseph, and Johnny are three brothers from a traditional Christian family living in the Palestinian
town of Ramallah. Their father decides to retire after fifty years of running a family barbershop.
In doing so, he asks Johnny to give up his passion for music and take over his chair and hands the
business responsibilities to pious Joseph, the middle son. This elicits much protest from the oldest
obstinate brother, Jimmy. The situation gets exacerbated when the father dies unexpectedly leaving the
three brothers to deal with the faltering barbershop. This profound change hits their life as they grapple
with their personal issues, some selfish, some not.
With a new barbershop across the street already stealing their business, and their livelihood at stake,
the brothers have to step up to the plate, yet each sees things differently. Joseph immerses himself in
the details, ignores his family's needs and abandons his dreams of traveling. Johnny, the youngest of
the three feels utterly dejected for having to give up an unrealized music career, finds no understanding
from his wife and strikes an affair with an old flame. Jimmy stammers in and out of the shop, collecting
      and returning his barber supplies.
Events unfold against the backdrop of an Intifada raging in the periphery. Barbershop regulars color
this microcosm with humor, injecting incongruous stories into the bothers’ lives. As the mother maintains
the family legacy and the brothers live life against all the odds, values clash and bring forth poignancy
and the comedy that keeps the world turning.
The barbershop will be there for another fifty years!
