    • After the book " Bad Company: Drugs, Hollywood and the Cotton Club Murder" by Steve Wick
According to Pulitzer Prize-winning New York News day reporter Steve Wick, Jacobs orchestrated the deaths of Radin and, later, her new husband
Seductive Laney Jacobs introduced legendary producer Bob Evans (Chinatown and The Godfather) to entrepreneur Roy Radin with the expectation of becoming a partner on a big movie deal.
But when Radin disagreed, he was murdered.

In 1983, Florida drug dealer Laney Jacobs found herself frozen out of a deal to co-produce a film called The Cotton Club with entrepreneur Roy Radin and The Godfather 's producer Robert Evans.

Laney Jacobs is a woman with the burning ambition to use the millions she had made by drug dealing to buy her way into the movie industry.
Roy Radin also had a ravaging cocaine habit, fed by Florida drug dealer Laney Jacobs and that is where his real trouble began
Together they planned to finance the movie "Cotton Club".

When Radin's body was found miles away from Los Angeles, the police had few clues and eventually had to put the investigation on hold. At the request of Radin's mother, "New York Newsday's" Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Steve Wick, began looking into Radin's last weeks and soon unearthed the sordid connection between deal making and drug dealing that set all Hollywood on its ear.
