    • Synopsis
    • Hildegard von Bingen, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, and Ethel Smyth—once celebrated composers—have unjustly fallen into obscurity. Yet, in their time, they defied conventions and were stars. This documentary web series uncovers the fascinating journeys of eight extraordinary European women composers, from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century, exploring why they were erased from history. The series is also part of the musical installation An Orchestra of One's Own, which revives these forgotten composers through a unique spatial sound experience and a participatory karaoke, with excerpts featured at the end of each episode. Presented in exhibitions across France!
