    • Synopsis
    • Set against the backdrop of the hot Indian Summer of 1975 we meet Jerry, a seven year old Australian boy, and his parents Nancy and John. When Jerry's father is posted to a small dusty town in the north of India, to work on a mining project, the family embarked on a journey into the unknown that would ultimately lead to the break up of the family and John's death. But out of the emotional chaos and the tragedy of this summer arose one extraordinary, proud and courageous individual - a simple caretaker at the local school, a man with a schoolyard reputation for 'eating children'. Hari Singh. Learning from each and crossing the cultural divide, Hari and Jerry face obstacles that test each other to the limit. This is a tender yet powerful story about loss, friendship and sacrifice.
