    • Synopsis
    • ALL I NEED is a near future Science Fiction feature about the ghost of a Chinese girl Linn (15) who has committed suicide. She worked in a tech factory, lived in a communal bunker for workers, and barely saw sunlight. All day she would work on an assembly line, being a ‘human’ quality check on device after device, helping build the privilege of a world she desperately wants to see. Her work is skilled and tedious, but she is replaceable and her insignificance and lack of basic human freedoms leads her into first self harm and eventually into the taking of her own life. She kills herself at the assembly line with one of her tools, in a young dramatic gesture, her blood spilling over the work surfaces. as her soul begins to slip from her body, a last minute urge overtakes her, she wants to live, to experience.
Her soul grips onto a device and stays there, waiting.

Young Nero is a spoilt1yr old of the ‘developed’ world. He is desperate to have a device, feeling his maturity and status depend on it. His loving but absent and somewhat immature parents let him. Linn’s Ghost is attached to Nero’s device. What follows is a surreal and touching narrative of two young and lonely souls from different backgrounds, bonding over their desire to experience the world around them. Ultimately though, it seems there might only be room for one of them. -
