    • Synopsis
    • Mother and son live in an old barge moored on a bank of the big river that cuts across the city. She spends her days in bed, very sick. He takes loving care of her, trying to feed her as he can, with the fish he gets from those golden waters and with the leftovers he finds in the trash cans when he walks up onto land, and confronts without hope the metropolis. However, the greatest nourishment he give her are the caresses he gives her when he cares for her, while she murmurs to him about her childhood in Odessa and about being a young, strong woman. Days pass by like this, light, loving, and desperate. The woman struggles with her illness while the son never loses patience and love… until he decides to cut the umbilical cord.
