    • Synopsis
    • What if you were afraid of everything? Escalators, elevators, spaghetti dinners, talking too loudly in public, revolving doors, hiccupping, crossing the street, riding the subway…commitment. Meet Laurie Harding (Paulo Costanzo), phobic extraordinaire. It's been years since he's rode an escalator. His sister Michelle (Camille Sullivan) takes him to work every morning. His girlfriend Dot (Emily Hampshire) brings him back to his mom's place at the end of the day. He's learned to cope.
What if a device was invented that could make a guy like Laurie feel safe? Well, Global Safety Inc. has done just that. In fact, Michelle is the head of product development for the company and gave an early prototype to Laurie. With the Early Warning 2 Safe System TM, the PDA software alerts you to danger and the patented Safe Bracelet TM will sense your fear and call for help!
Sounds too good to be true? It just might be. You see, there's a little problem. People's most banal fears have started coming true. Afraid of elevators? One just plunged 30 stories. Afraid of escalators? A woman was strangled when her scarf got caught in the step. Afraid of having food an your face? What on earth is going on in the food court?
Is it a co-incidence that these fears top Laurie's list of phobias? They're common enough fears, right? And the fact that Laurie was nearby when they happened doesn't mean his fear was the cause, does it? But, what if a person's fears could infect the very system that was supposed to protect them? And what if the person was Laurie. When more and more total strangers start dying of things Laurie's afraid of, Laurie realizes he has to face his fears. Or worse, overcome them. Can Laurie overcome his fears, become a hero and save the city? Somehow, it doesn't seem likely. After all, this is a guy who's afraid of red sauce meals.
Finally, convinced that he must conquer his phobias, Laurie resolves that he must overcome his fear and cross the street alone to save the city from the raging Fear Storm. Meet Laurie Harding, an unlikely and very fearful hero.
