- Synopsis
- Ten years after his immaturity and selfishness prevented him from accepting his wife's success, Cristobal (50) has settled with Laura (43), to whose authority he submits himself since she reformed his life. Camilo (24), his older son, visiting Chile with Anaïs, his Spanish girlfriend, calls him after nearly a decade of silence and the two couples end up sharing a weekend by the coast. The reunion after all these years allows Camilo to accept that he is homosexual. In the same process, Cristobal understands that he is living his own lie: he doesn't love Laura and he clings on to her solely because she represses his true, unhinged personality. As he reconnects with the lust for life that he has kept in check since he met Laura, Cristobal becomes once again the mental teenager that he was at forty. Feeling irresistible, he misunderstands Anaïs's affection and he irreversibly destroys his relationship with Camilo. After forever losing his son, and having evicted himself from his hardly fought-for refuge, Cristobal discovers that the closest he can do to growing up is to accept that he is aging.
