Zed Nelson is Director of film production company WagonTrail Productions Ltd. The company was set up to produce Nelson's first documentary film 'Shelter In Place' (Directed and filmed by by Zed Nelson & produced by Hannah Patterson). The film won a Channel 4/Britdoc prize and was nominated for the 2010 'Best Newcomer' Grierson Award, and premiered at the Sheffield Docfest and screened at numerous international film festivals. Nelson's second film, 'Europe’s Immigration Disaster', was commissioned by Channel 4’s Dispatches and screened on British TV in July 2014. Nelson’s recent short films, 'UKIP: Marmite & Fruitcakes' and 'Screenagers', were commissioned by Channel 4 and screened in March & October 2015. Nelson's recent film 'Gun Nation' (30 mins) was commissioned by the Guardian Newspaper (in association with the Bertha Foundation) to launch the Guardian's new doc film platform in 2016. 'Gun Nation' has been shortlisted for an RTS Award 2017 in the 'independent' category. Nelson's latest film is 'The Street' (134 mins/documentary) focusses on one street in East London over a four year period. A film about love an loss, gentrification, and the nation's slide into Brexit.
