The Lima Film Festival, Latin American Film Encounter, is organized by the Cultural Center of the Peruvian Catholic University with the support of Peruvian national and private entities and of international institutions that support cultural development in the region. The festival is committed to promote Latin-American filmmaking and also to provide access to first class world filmmaking that does not arrive to Peru through regular distribution channels, to film students and to general public interested in films in our country. Throughout its 14th years of life it has been able to consolidate a gathering space among Latin-American filmmakers. Conceived with a special format it offers personal attention to all of its participants allowing them to develop immediate communication among them and enabling the possibility to negotiate the selling of their films for future exhibitions in Peruvian theater halls. Objective

Promote Latin American cinema in the region, not only at a festival level but as a commercial possibility in cinema theaters. To offer a space for mutual encounter and discussion for filmmakers of the region. To open a window for new cinematographies that are barely known in our country.
