Every October, the Philadelphia Film Society hosts the Philadelphia Film Festival which gathers more than 25,000 dedicated film lovers and scores of talented filmmakers for eleven exceptional days of cinematic splendor. Throughout the year, PFS’s artistic team scours the world’s most prestigious film festivals for the year’s most highly anticipated, critically acclaimed, and thought provoking films. The Festival presents these films alongside events with actors, directors, and industry guests.
The Philadelphia Film Festival is an annual event that strives to bring the best of cinema from around the world to Philadelphia, and to highlight these important and impactful films to the Philadelphia community. The Festival also places an importance on highlighting Philadelphia by featuring films shot in and around the greater Philadelphia region or by Philadelphia-born filmmakers. The Festival is produced by the Philadelphia Film Society (PFS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts and cultural organ
