Description
Since 2000, Pacific Arts Movement has presented the annual San Diego Asian Film Festival, the largest showcase of Asian cinema in the western United States. SDAFF was one of the first festivals in the US to program films by Park Chan-wook, Brillante Mendoza, and Bong Joon-ho. In 2011, SDAFF launched an annual Spring Showcase as a mini-festival to cater to increasing demand for Asian cinema. Pac Arts also runs youth training programs, member activities, and an experimental mobile cinema.
Objective
-To program and promote the best mainstream, art-house, and experimental cinema by filmmakers in Asia and by filmmakers of Asian descent. -To engage the public in meaningful discourse and progressive social change.
