Description

For almost four decades, the label “Bioskop” has been standing for sophisticated and entertaining movies. Our history is tightly linked to the history of German filmmaking since the 70ies. The label Bioskop was founded in 1973 by the directors Volker Schlöndorff and Reinhard Hauff and producer Eberhard Junkersdorf. Their work resulted in numerous milestones of new German filmmaking like “The Tin Drum” (Winner of “Palme d’Or” and Oscar for “Best Foreign Language Film”) or “Death of a Salesman”, starring Dustin Hoffman, based on the famous play by Arthur Miller. Since 2001, Dietmar Güntsche has been running the company together with his partner Eberhard Junkersdorf. In 2007, Dietmar Güntsche became sole managing director of Neue Bioskop Film to continue the company's history of success: The literature adaptation "Der grosse Kater" was honoured with the Bavarian Producers Award in 2009, and the recently completed tragicomedy "Flying Fish" was one of the winners of the renowned Max Ophüls
