Description

NAAS is a network of 12 alternative cinema venues (32 screens) based in 8 countries from the Middle East and North Africa. Through its workshops, film touring programs and regular meeting of its members, NAAS aims to broaden both the scope of films and the modes of spectatorship available to the Arab public while encouraging dialogue around cinema and its history. The Network of Arab Alternative Screens (NAAS) consists of non-governmental cinema spaces and ciné-clubs across the Arab region presenting visionary film programs that engage and challenge audiences. NAAS aims to broaden the scope of films accessible to audiences, to cultivate dialogue around cinema, and to encourage a variety of approaches to the collective experience of watching films.
