Description
The mission of the National Film Institute (NFI) (the successor of the Hungarian National Film Fund from January 2020), is to produce and co-produce Hungarian films on all platforms.The NFI operates through its departments: the funding schemes, MAFILM studios, Filmlab, Film Archive, training and Innovation departments. The International Department, including NFI World Sales, handles festival & sales activity, and represents Hungary at Eurimages, European Film Promotion & Creative Europe.
Objective
The NFI's Feature Film Board and the Television Production Board functions through a continuous application system. Besides providing financial support, the NFI also offers creative cooperation, professional expertise and international industry contacts for new Hungarian productions. NFI's budget for grants for 2020 is EUR 50 million.
