The Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema, or Pesaro Film Festival, was founded in Pesaro in 1965 by Bruno Torri and Lino Micciché. Currently, the festival is directed by Giovanni Spagnoletti. Since its founding, the festival has been a window to new cinema.
