Description
MatIFF stands for MATera International Film Festival, yet it encompasses more than just films. The goal of MatIFF is to establish itself as Matera's primary global arts event. This is because cinema, being the seventh art, encapsulates and reflects the essence of the arts that come before it: architecture, music, painting, sculpture, poetry, and dance. The festival is built on three core principles: experimentation, cross-pollination, and forward-looking research, all rooted in the present.
