Description

Māoriland Films is a Māori film production company in Ōtaki, Aotearoa, founded by Libby Hakaraia and Tainui Stephens. As the production arm of Māoriland Film Festival, it champions authentic Indigenous storytelling and develops talent through initiatives like the NATIVE Slam and Māoriland Indigenous Co-Lab. Recent productions include Shrek Kātahi Te Korokē, Ngā Kōtiro o Taranaki, and a growing slate of bold feature films and animation.

Objective

Māoriland Films aims to secure financing for the feature film Taniwha, build partnerships to support the Māoriland Indigenous Co-Lab, and connect with Indigenous filmmakers globally to foster collaboration and grow a powerful network of storytellers.
