Description

Luis Puenzo is a screenwriter, productor and director. In 1984 he founded Historias Cinematográficas to make La Historia Oficial, Oscar academy winner. He wrote and directed Gringo Viejo, with Jane Fonda and Gregory Peck, La Peste, an addaptation of the Camus novel starring William Hurt, Robert Duvall and Raúl Juliá; the documentary Algunos que vivieron produced by Steven Spielberg for the Shoah Foundation; and La Puta y la Ballena starring Aitana Sánchez Gijón.Historias Cinematográficas has also produced XXY by Lucía Puenzo, (Grand Prix in the Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival of 2007); El niño Pez by Lucía Puenzo, El Fin del Potemkin by Misael Bustos, Infancia Clandestina by Benjamín Ávila (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Cannes Film Festival of 2012), Bomba by Sergio Bizzio, Planta Madre by Gianfranco Quatrinni and Wakolda by Lucía Puenzo (Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival of 2013).
