GROSSMANN FANTASTIC FILM & WINE FESTIVAL
Description
Grossmann Fantastic Film & Wine Festival is held in small Slovenian towns of Ljutomer and Ormož, surrounded by beautiful vineyard landscape, and it is the most important genre film festival in this part of Europe. Our program is dedicated to the genre cinema with special focuses on cult filmmakers. The festival is a member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation and a regular on various lists of best genre film festivals in the world. It was founded in 2005 on the 100th anniversary of the first Slovenian film footage, made by Karol Grossmann in Ljutomer in 1905.
Objective
Our main goal is to promote fantastic genre cinema in our country and the rest of the region, and to promote genre films of our area to the rest of Europe and the world. Genre cinema is growing in this part of the world and the festival wants to be its springboard to the rest of the world. The festival’s home place of small towns with wine-making tradition makes it truly unique festival. With the addition of co-production film market, which is our long-term objective, this charming festival setting could also offer some serious development and business opportunities.
