Description

Grand Motel Films is an independent film production company based in New York City founded by Vanessa McDonnell. Credits include Aaron Schimberg's 2013 debut feature "Go Down Death" (Factory 25) and the rediscovery and restoration of the lost 1966 film "Who's Crazy?" by Thomas White, which features an original soundtrack by Ornette Coleman. McDonnell is a producer on the feature anthology film "collective:unconscious" (SXSW, 2016). She is also a programmer at Spectacle, a Brooklyn microcinema.

Objective

Grand Motel seeks partners in developing Aaron Schimberg's second feature film "Chained for Life", which was selected for the Frontières International Co-Production Market. We also welcome screening inquiries for the 1966 film "Who's Crazy?" which had its restoration premiere at Anthology Film Archives in New York on March 25-28. The film had not been screened in 50 years after its Cannes premiere in 1966 and was hailed as a "lost masterwork" (Richard Brody, The New Yorker, March 25, 2016).
