Description

The film.factory programme was developed by the renowned Hungarian filmmaker Bela Tarr as an intensive programme within the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology. The film.factory is developed as an interactive platform with emphasis on film production, providing young directors a singular opportunity to connect and work with the world’s most prominent artists, directors, experts, theorists and film historians. The film.factory is a place of exchange of creative energies and ideas, open communication and free artistic expression. Its teaching and mentoring staff, following the creative vision of the programme developed by Bela Tarr, has gathered some of the world’s most exciting and accomplished filmmakers, artists, theorists, including: Claire Denis, Jean-Michel Frodon, Thierry Garrel, Enrico Ghezzi, Ulrich Gregor, Manuel Grosso, Shozo Ichiyama, Jim Jarmusch, Jytte Jensen, Christian Mungiu, Stephen and Timothy Quay, Kirill Razlogov, Andras Renyi, Carlos Reygadas, Jona

Objective

The film.factory objective is to support the development of new artistic talent, where upcoming filmmakers work with established professionals in joint exploration of new possibilities and outlooks for socially relevant cinema in the 21st century. Both an academic programme and a production lab, film.factory aims to enrich dialogue between cultures, generations and artistic visions, though collaborative film production.
