Description

Elephant Lake Productions, LLC, is a New York-based documentary production company started by National Geographic veteran Justin Weinrich in 2015. Dedicated to exploring unique anthropological and ecological perspectives of our complicated and ever-evolving world, Elephant Lake produces timely, creative projects around the planet. Elephant Lake's first film, Lab Rat #31415 was made in conjunction with MIT and explores the bizarre connections between animal, human, and digital cognition. It played at festivals around the world in 2016, and won awards at the Mindfield Science Film Festival in LA and the Hong Kong Experimental Film Festival. Elephant Lake's second film, The Burning Field, explores the controversial of e-waste through an immersive and experimental portrait of Agbogbloshie, the largest e-waste dump on earth, through the eyes of four young people who live and work there. The Burning Field was selected to take part in the 2018 IFP Documentary Completion Lab, and will premiere in 2019.
