Founded over ten years ago Curious is an award-winning, full-service production company with post-production and distribution facilities, and offices in Sydney, Auckland, Singapore and Los Angeles. Curious-produced short and feature films have been selected for the world's most pre-eminent film festivals including Cannes, Venice, Sundance and SXSW. In 2010 Curious established a boutique distribution division seeking out distinctive cinema, innovatively conceived, which will directly benefit from a bespoke, focused release and marketing strategy. Curious’s theatrical releases range from WINTER’S BONE to Oscar winner, IDA. Recent acquisitions include Sundance hit THE FITS, HITCHCOCK/TRUFFAUT and the Oscar nominated and Berlin Film Festival 2016 Golden Bear winner FIRE AT SEA. The company currently has a slate of narrative feature, documentaries and TV projects in development through to post production. Most recently Curious Film produced HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE directed by Taika Waititi, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to break box office records in its home country New Zealand.
