Description

Barunson Film Division was launched in 2005 by Barunson Co., Ltd., whose business areas encompass film production, talent management, and online games. Its first film, "Hansel And Gretel"(2007) by YIM Phil-sung, won the Special Jury Award and Best Film Award - Orient Express at the Fantasporto Film Festival. Barunson’s second feature, "The Good, The Bad, The Weird", an oriental western by KIM Jee-woon, was the most successful film in Korea in 2008 and was selected for the ‘Out-of-Competition’ section at the Cannes Film Festival. Barunson’s third feature, "Mother" by BONG Joon-ho, was released in 2009 and was selected for ‘Un Certain Regard’ at Cannes. Barunson's most recent film, The Servant by KIM Dae-woo, was one of the most successful Korean films in 2010.
