Description

Augustus Film is an independent production company of films with an edge, be it political, artistic or otherwise. Since its creation on the 1st of August 2000 by Bero Beyer and Hany Abu-Assad, Augustus Film has produced a number of award winning films, most of which were situated in the Middle East. Most notably these were the fiction feature RANA’S WEDDING, which premiered in the Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes film festival 2002 and the first Palestinian Oscar nominated feature film PARADISE NOW. The latter was produced in an international co-production with partners in Germany, France and Israel and was sold internationally by Paris based sales company Celluloid Dreams. In 2008 Bero co-produced the Un Certain Regard entry and Palestinian Oscar submission SALT OF THIS SEA by director Annemarie Jacir, which was produced by JBA, France and sold by Pyramide. Principal Photography just concluded on two co-productions, i.e. Anup Singhs QISSA produced by Heimat Film and Asli Ozge'
