- Synopsis
- Up-and-coming animation director Makoto Shinkai, hailed as the next Mamoru Hosoda, hooks up with Masayoshi Tanaka, character designer for “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day”, (box office gross over 10 million). The characters were designed by Masayoshi Tanaka, a new era-representative animator famous for his work on “The Anthem of the Heart” (15). Top-grade artists have gathered as staff, such as anime legend Masashi Ando as animation director, who worked on many Studio Ghibli films including “Spirited Away” (01). Boasting a fanatical following for their irreplaceable style and tunes, rock band “RADWIMPS” will provide the score.
  The “distance” between two people living in two different worlds... Shinkai depicts the story with an overwhelming cinematic beauty and scale. It is a new territory of anime yet to be experienced. This summer, a new classic will be born!
