- In the Wanli Reign of the Ming Dynasty, people lived in extreme misery under the power of barbaric eunuchs in the wake of continual natural disasters. A bailiff, called Wen Hao in Zhongzhou, resented the fatuity of the royal government with a knight-errant mind. Because he was unwilling to continue to serve as a lackey for the royal government and to harm people, he resigned and roamed all corners of the country in order to eliminate evil and carry on justice. So he became a genuine chivalrous knight .His name was well known in the country.
  All people respected him, but the government authorities were scared of him and decided to kill him. In every case, he used flying darts as his signature weapon and worn a mark of a red peony. So he got a nickname Red Peony.
  The film unfolds the stories of this legendary hero.
