    • Synopsis
    • The Papal Basilicas of Rome is a unique film that combines history, spirituality, architecture and art taking its cue from the Extraordinary Jubilee proclaimed by Pope Francis. An exclusive visit to the four Major Basilicas in Rome to discover the hidden treasures of the Eternal City. The history of these churches will unfold and show the way they have evolved over the centuries, as well as the most famous works of art and the deepest meanings to be found within their walls. The life stories of Popes and artists will be told, as will the events that made these places immortal, the spirituality they emanate and the mysteries and legends associated with them. Architecture, art, history and spirituality will be recounted in the words of those well acquainted with the deepest recesses of the spirit of these buildings. The film begins by focusing on the Jubilee itself and the opening of the Holy Doors of the four Basilicas, taking us inside each one for a uniquely amazing, totally immersive experience. A common thread in the narrative is the evocative, emotional impression it makes, avoiding the often didactic tones used in similar productions, and aiming to emotionally engage the spectator through the power of images and the beauty emanated by them. The 4 Papal Basilicas of Rome feature artistic and architectural works of art from the likes of illustrious artists and architects such as Bernini, Borromini, Bramante, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Arnolfo di Cambio and Domenico Fontana.
