    • Synopsis
    • Sangue is the story of a peculiar encounter between the actor and director Pippo Delbono,
and former Red Brigade leader, Giovanni Senzani. An encounter where the stories of two
women cross: Pippo’s mother Margherita, a staunch catholic and Giovanni’s wife Anna, an
opponent of all forms of armed battle who decided to wait for him while he served a 23 year prison sentence. Two women who become ill and end up dying just a few days apart,
leaving the two men wounded, vulnerable and completely alone.
Pippo Delbono like with his previous film Amore carne, continues to film using his mobile
phone and small hand held camera, in order to remain present, observe and witness those
singular moments in life which can never be repeated, his mother’s last days; but also those unique moments in which Giovanni decides to tell those things that he, a nonrepentant red brigader, had never told before.
And in those same days, the city of L’Aquila, fallen to pieces by the earthquake and entirely emptied of its inhabitants, lies waiting for someone to finally bring it back to life.
