    • Synopsis
    • Harry Sterndale (Chris Rea), a once fashionable photographer, is down to doing weddings and parties. When told he has only six weeks to live, Harry is, not unnaturally, depressed. One night, alone in his house, remembering the people he loved and the people who betrayed him, he comes to a remarkable decision - if he is going to the next world, he will take with him the people who most harmed him during his life. His list includes his ex-wife, who left him for another fashion photographer and his crooked financier, who swindled him out of his money.

Everything is going according to plan until Harry meets the lovely Jill. Falling in love with her, he now has a reason to live - even though he doesn't have much life left. He hires an ex-assassin to assassinate him and plans to leave his insurance policy to Jill. He continues on with his list, only to find out there is nothing wrong with him at all - the hospital mixed up his X-rays! With the police hot on his trail and an assassin out to kill him, Harry must fight for his life through humerous escapades that finds him a way of living happily ever after with Jill.

Featuring hilarious performances from Bob Hoskins ("The Long Good Friday"), Monty Python's John Cleese, Oliver Reed ("Gladiator") and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley ("Sexy Beast"), "Parting Shots" is right on target.
