    • Synopsis
    • The five stories that make up 'Historias del Canal' span through 100 years in the history of Panama. In '1913', the story of Clarice Thompson, a Jamaican young girl that came with her family for the construction of the Panama Canal, faces a conflict where she has to decide between her heart and what seems to be the right thing to do. In '1950', we will discover, through the eyes of a 'zonian' child, the unique world of the Canal Zone and understand the nostalgia that filled the hearts of those people destined to Panama during those decades once they had to go back to the United States. In '1964', within the tension and clashes of January of that year when Zonian teenagers and parents confronted Panamanian students over the raising of the flags in the Canal Zone High School, the lives of two of them from different sides of the conflict are inter wined and will never be the same after that. In '1977' the life of Silverio, a driver for a couple of American negotiators of the Torrijos_Carter Treaty tangles at the pace of the historical events of the time. Not everything is as it seems. Finally, in '2013', during the excavations for the expansion of the Canal, a curious and unexpected discovery makes Clarice Jones, an American jazz singer whose career is on hold, travel to Panama and to her past. In this journey she finds something that she did not expect.
