- Synopsis
- Ever since she was married in Taiwan, Qiong has dedicated all her time to the family—running her husband’s farm and taking care of her reticent, autistic-like daughter Yuping. So she feels helpless when her mother-in-law asks her to give birth to a grandson.
  To Qiong’s sole delight, Ms. Sun at school discovers Yuping’s talent in drawing and gives her extra lessons after school. Qiong and Ms. Sun soon become close friends. After one summer vacation, however, Ms. Sun gets transferred. Once again Qiong feels all alone.
  To make matters worse, her husband Tianfu fails in every investment he’s made and runs away from reality by drinking. Moreover, her mother-in-law never ceases to show discrimination and hostility toward her simply because she is a foreigner. After one major quarrel, Qiong determines to leave the family with Yuping and go to Ms. Sun.
