    • Synopsis
    • September 2009, Naomi Sukuse took a brutal tumble down a staircase, landing literally headfirst. After an ambulance takes her to a hospital, she discovers that she has lost her memory of the past four years. Her most recent memory is that of a conversation she had in the ambulance with Yuji Miwa, a handsome boy with an adult-like mysterious air about him, who accompanies her to the hospital. Yuji vanishes, leaving an indelible impression in Naomi’s dizzy mind.

After leaving the hospital, Naomi goes back to school only to fall under the shadow of her amnesia. Apparently she “was” a student in an international senior high school in Tokyo. However, having lost her memory of the past four years, Naomi feels like she has never set foot in that school: an alien building, unfamiliar teachers who start friendly conversations with her, strangers who claim to be her friends...

Yuji, a lonely figure in the confusing school landscape that engulfs Naomi, steals his way into her heart. They meet again after the night of the accident, and Naomi finds herself inexplicably drawn to the mysterious boy, who has lost his brother, has slash marks on his wrists, and is the subject of constant bad rumors.

Mirai Hasegawa claims to be Naomi’s close friend, and tenderly supports her through the periods of trouble and confusion. However, for some reason, Mirai is trying to put a stop to the budding romance between Naomi and Yuji. Unable to understand his feelings, Naomi feels very confused.

Meanwhile, Naomi’s “boyfriend” Ace Zuckerman is frustrated by the gradual change she undergoes after the accident and the loss of memory. “You are not the girl you used to be!” he accuses her, but there is nothing Naomi can do about it.

She keeps getting dizzy spells accompanied by disturbing flashbacks of kissing a “faceless” boy. A tangled love rectangle forms with Naomi caught among three boys in a series of events that lead to growing intimacy and detachment.

There is Yuji, who falls deeper and deeper in love with Naomi despite his struggle with events from his past and the anguish over his own existence.

Then there is Mirai, who lovingly watches over Naomi as he always has, but cannot confess his true feelings for her.

And finally, there is Ace, who is still in love with Naomi, but finds it very hard to accept her new self.

Their feelings intersect and collide, weaving a bittersweet love story that unfurls from an international school in Tokyo to California, the land of golden sunshine and skies of ineffable blue.

Naomi’s lost memory of the past four years is leading the four heroes to an unexpected destination.

They will have to face the unimaginable ending that fate has in hand for them.
