    • Synopsis
    • The portrait of Halka Třešňáková – an artist, an actress, and a performer – bears witness to her work as an artist, as well as to the background affecting the life of a girl turning adult in a family that defied a totalitarian regime.
On one hand, we can see one of the most distinctive representatives of Czech alternative theatre scene, transcending the frameworks of several art categories with her artistic expression. On the other hand, there is a child of dissidents, who had to leave their country together with all their family and adjust to the local conditions in a new country. Both these layers of Halka overlap in a profession that allows her to express her own feelings. Consequently, her emigration experience and times of hardship have helped to shape her artistic expression, as well as her attitudes and moral creed.
