    • Synopsis
    • The movie is a bitter-sweet morality play on human nature. It is a picture of real people with real problems who are trying to solve them the only way they can, not realizing that help might be just behind the corner.
Pawel is a 12-year-old boy who finds out that his mother is dying of cancer. The doctors claim that only a miracle could save her, the boy being a deeply religious person, strongly believes that miracles do happen. He decides to run a marathon to the most famous Polish holly place Częstochowa, believing that if he succeeds in doing that, his mother would miraculously recover. As it is too late to join the pilgrimage, the boy decides to run by himself. The only person who takes care of the boy is a physical education teacher who has problems with alcohol.
This long journey is a way of dealing with problems for both of them. The teacher is afraid that he would lose his job due to addiction, whereas the boy cannot stand the thought of losing the only parent he’s got left.
